about angelic awards local hero

The purpose of the Angelic Awards is to acknowledge and honor individuals who have made significant contributions to our local communities through their inspiring work. The Angelic Awards, the Neighborhood Network Center Inc.’s headliner annual event, was organized to honor and celebrate unsung heroes like teachers, servicemen and -women, mentors, non-profit, community activist, and other influential people. They are “angelic” because they give so much – through their mentoring, creations, and dedication, showing both honor and selflessness.
We want to give people who don’t normally receive much acclaim a bit of recognition and let them know that all their hard work is appreciated by their neighbors and friends, the very people that they help elevate. The Neighborhood Network Center, Inc. wants to be the bridge to building tomorrow’s dreams, by providing uplifting examples of lives well led to the generation that is approaching young man and womanhood in our community.
What makes a hero? Courage and bravery, strength, morality, selflessness, humility; these are the traits that portray a hero. To be a hero means that you step across the line, and you are willing to make sacrifices. Heroes always make sacrifices for those in need. Heroes always take risks for a just cause. As Nelson Mandela put it, “Courage is not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it.”
For those reasons, the Neighborhood Network Center is launching monthly shout outs to our Local Heroes! People who selflessly dedicate their lives to the betterment of our community are those who we desire to acknowledge, shining a light on the most prominent leaders in our community! May it inspire others to do the same.
Do you know someone who is well deserving of being called a hero? Do you want to reward them for their heroic ways? Please send the name of the person and a description of what makes them a hero. Let us know why we should choose that person.
